AffloVest Airway Clearance System

The fully mobile AffloVest HFCWO Airway Clearance System mimics anatomically targeted chest physical therapy (CPT).
It can deliver effective airway clearance therapy to help improve bronchial drainage.  The AffloVest Therapy mobilizes lung secretions. The AffloVest can be used for the treatment of several respiratory diseases, such as:

• Bronchiectasis
• Cystic Fibrosis
• Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
• Muscular Dystrophy (MD)
• Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
• Other neuromuscular respiratory diseases

Most important is that the AffloVest fits the user well.  Therefore, it is important that you take a chest circumference measurement across the widest part of the user’s chest.  The proper size can then be selected based on that chest circumference to deliver optimal airway clearance therapy.

Please read how to order which includes infromation on how to measure your vest size, below before placing your order.

Who should use the AffloVest Mobile Airway Clearance System?

The AffloVest Airway Clearance System  is a proven, high frequency chest wall oscillation (HFCWO) device.   This Airway Clearance System  provides patients with mobility while receiving their treatments.  In addition, AffloVest user can customize and enhance their airway clearance therapy, based on their specific needs.  AffloVest treatments are powerful and highly directed.  Therefore, AffloVest therapy mobilizes lung secretions.  Regular therapy removes excess mucus from the lungs.  And by removing excretions that can contain pathogens,  AffloVest users reduce their risk of developing pneumonia.  And, because it is highly mobile, it enables the user to adhere to their therapy schedule.  The AffloVest is for patients with Bronchiectasis, Cystic Fibrosis, COPD,MS, MD (muscular dystrophy), ALS, and other neuromuscular and respiratory diseases.  The AffloVest mobile airway clearance system is a relatively new airway clearance system.

How does the AffloVest work?

The AffloVest uses electro-mechanical actuators to produce oscillations.  This system was the first battery-operated High Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation (HFCWO) device. AffloVest users receive state-of-the-art airway clearance therapy on the go.

The system is a compact. No bulky travel bags required.  There are already more than 10,000 AffloVest systems already in use.  Despite of this, many patients, caregivers and medical providers don’t know much about them yet.  The AffloVest Airway Clearance System is only used for patients that can sit or stand independently.  And because HFCWO treatment is more comfortable than manual percussion therapy, it is easier to reach better compliance (do your treatments regularly).  If the user is bedridden, we do not recommend the AffloVest.  Instead, we recommend the Hill-Rom Model 105 or the RespirTech inCourage Systems.  Some patients that cannot cough effectively may benefit from the Respironics CoughAssist T70, or the Hill-Rom VitalCough.

The AffloVest Mobile Airway Clearance System has eight mechanical oscillating motors.  These motors target all 5 lobes of the lungs, both in front and back,  The AffloVest uses patented, Direct Dynamic Oscillation™ technology.  There are no bulky hoses or air pulse generators.  Because of this, the AffloVest® Mobile Airway Clearance System is engineered to encourage treatment adherence.  Because of this, patients experience an improved quality of life during airway clearance treatments. No longer do AffloVest users need to remain stationary during therapy sessions.  Now, they are free to move about, walk, work, bike or even garden.

AffloVest Mobile Airway Clearance System Features:

• First during-use HFCWO fully mobile Airway Clearance Therapy – Mobile CPT
• Anatomically targets all 5 lobes of the lungs, both front and back
• Promotes airway clearance and secretion mobilization
• Clinically improved lung function shown in clinical studies
• Digital, programmable controller
• 3 modes of oscillation treatment (Percussion, Vibration, Drainage)

AffloVest Sizes:

The AffloVest® Mobile Airway Clearance System is produced in 7 different sizes.
The proper size is determined by the user’s chest circumference.
Precise fit is very important to anatomically target the upper and lower lung lobes with directed therapy.
The AffloVest® Mobile Airway Clearance System ranges from XXS (18″ chest circumference) for infants and young children up to the largest size, XXL for adults (up to 65″+ chest circumference).

AffloVest® Size       Chest Circumference Measurement

AffloVest Battery:

A powerful, rechargeable battery allows the user to move about freely, even outdoors.   You can always count on the AffloVest® Mobile Airway Clearance System to provide you with comfortable, reliable treatment when you need it.

Power Cord Information

All of our units have a universal power supply that accepts inputs from 110 – 230 V AC, 50 – 60 Hz. That means that you do not need a transformer to operate this system. We do however recommend a surge protector to protect the system against power spikes, especially if you are in an area where the local electrical grid is susceptible to spikes due to poor infrastructure or lighting strikes.

We supply a power cord for your home country, so if you are planning on traveling with your system, or if you are shipping to other than the destination country, please let us know.

This type of vest garment is used for patients that are able to stand and sit independently.
The advantage of the Washable C3 Vest Garment is its washable cover that can be separated from an inner bladder for easy cleaning. This style of vest delivers more energy with each oscillation because the inflatable chamber wraps completely around the patient’s upper body.

  • Reusable, machine washable. Bladder must be removed prior to washing.
  • Brushed fabric that is soft to the touch
  • High tech, multi-layer fabric design with breathable,3-D mesh lining

Classic Line Vest Wrap

Classic Line Vest Wrap

This style of vest garment is generally used for patients that are confined to a bed.
The Vest Wrap is re-usable and is easy to put on patients that may be immobile. The wrap might also work well for patients who have difficulty moving their arms or or have difficulty sitting upright for a Vest treatment. It has an inflatable bladder that extends over the patient’s chest.

How to buy:

  1. Choose your vest.
  2. Select options: Style, Colour and Size.
  3. Add it to your cart.
  4. Pay by credit card or money transfer.

Do not purchase a vest larger than the patient’s chest size!

Purchasing a vest garment that is too large will result in ineffective treatment. Purchasing a vest garment that is larger than the actual chest circumference and hoping that children with just ‘GROW INTO IT’ is not a good idea. Extra vest garments for our customers that have purchased a system from us are $250.
